In celebration of National Public Health Week, HPHA was proud to host Dr. Judy Mohr Peterson, Hawaii’s Med-QUEST Administrator, and a panel of community respondents, who will told the story of Hawai‘i ‘Ohana Nui Project Expansion (HOPE) - a public health project designed to build healthy communities and support healthy families. Under Dr. Mohr Peterson’s leadership, Med-QUEST has worked with diverse community stakeholders to develop a five-year project that will fund innovative strategies to improve and sustain well-being for Hawaii’s residents.
The event’s community respondent panel - Dr. Virginia Pressler, DOH Director, Dr. Robert Hirokawa, CEO of Hawaii Primary Care Association and Dr. Sheri-Ann Daniels, Executive Director of Papa Ola Lōkahi - discussed how H.O.P.E. will support public health by addressing health care and other social determinants (such as housing, behavioral health and oral health).
